The following are rules already in the manual and others that will be added. They are not worded correctly as these have been taken from my notes however the meaning is correct. The first ones will be effective immediately and will be released by AKA National Office in the way of an Addendum and circulated to State Secretaries. Senior National Heavy has changed from 160kg to 155kg. (36.05b)
When Tyre Pooling is undertaken at State or National Championships, replacement tyres due to damage needs to be reported at the impound area. The tyre will be an additional cost to the competitor and will also start the next race from the rear of the grid. (23.11)
Competitors are responsible for the condition of the spark plug thread to enable CC gauges to be fitted. Tap is able to be used in front of Engine Measurers etc (Chapter 26) This concerns the Comer engine but will be written as a general covering rule to cover all other engines.
The addition of one Reed block gasket with a maximum thickness of 1MM between the carburetor manifold and the Reed Block is permitted (28.20 and 35.6)
Clutch driven motors must not be started until directed by the Grid Marshall. The drive wheels must remain stationary with the driver in the kart. (19.24)
Additional fasteners or securing devices are Non Tech Items and may be fitted/added. (28.11 item 3)
Additional fasteners or securing devices may be fitted/added. (28.21) to allow the bellows of the Rotax Max to be fitted with a safety wire to prevent them blowing off when the engine backfires.
As of the 01/11/05 (November this year) 30MM axles must have a minimum wall
thickness of 3mm. It is highly recommended to cease using axles less than wall
thickness immediately as there has been numerous reports of theses axles breaking
and Manufacturers have also withdrawn from the market. The following dimensions
will apply. 50mm = 1.9mm; 40mm = 2.9mm; 35mm = 3mm; 30mm = 3mm; Less than 30mm
= Solid
Of course this will not include the keyways or the chamfer at each end.

As of 01/01/06 there will be a control muffler for the Clubmans. This has been on the books for a number of years now and will finally see the light of day on the tracks at the start of next year. They will cost you $132.00 from your Kart Shop and should be available in the next 10 weeks app.
The talk of clutches and starters has finally advanced, whether you like them or not they will be compulsory from the 01/01/2010 The TAG system as it will be known (Touch and Go)
Now, I have saved the best for last. The 2008 NATIONAL SPRINT KART CHAMPIONSHIPS
will be held in Tasmania at the Launceston Kart Club.
