The Series will be known as the Europcar-Launceston Saloon Bar Tasmanian Closed Title. Mr. Crack said that it is fantastic to have both these business to come on board, of what is becoming a very prestigious group of events, accumulating into a series that recognises consistency and capability of the states best Karters. The TCT will begin with round one at the Circular Head Kart Club on March 4th 2006 with a twilight meeting with finals to be run under lights. Round two will be at Launceston Kart Club on March 19th 2006, round 3 at the Southern Tasmanian Kart Club on April 23rd 2006 and the final to be run at the North West Kart Club on June 18th 2006. Mr Crack said that the series has the potential of being worth up to $20,000 in prizes. Karters aged from seven years of age and up will be eligible. Worth noting was the involvement of Yamaha with sponsorship that could potentially send a Tasmanian to Japan to race as well as similar deals for the Leopard drivers and considerable contribution in prizes from DPE and Remo Racing . Local Tasmanian dealers and businesses are also contributing at a much higher level with guarantees of return business. In 2004 the series didn’t exist, in 2005 it got of to a shaky start but grew in popularity as karters accepted that the TCT was an opportunity to perform at the highest level. “This year with the series attracting television advertising, we still have potential sponsors inquiring on levels that they can be involved” Mr Crack said. Each meeting will have four races giving a total of sixteen. Of the first twelve races (at the first three meetings) only ten will count allowing the drivers worst two to be dropped. But this means that all four have to count in the final round. This will give a clearer and easier way to calculate what is required in the busy race schedule on the last day. Points will be allocated as: Win - 25, 2nd - 20, 3rd - 18, 4th - 16,
5th - 14, 6th - 12, 7th - 11, 8th - 10, 9th - 9, 10th - 8, 11th - 7, 12th
